Our Committee/Trustee's

Fantastic Fox Wood PTA consists of many amazing, supportive members which include both staff and parents/carers.

We have a dedicated Committee of 4 (Chair, Co-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) who are also Trustees of our charity (no 1209802).

We work together to get the best outcomes for the charity and to bring together all members of the PTA to host exciting events and fundraisers, delegating important roles within the PTA and making sure we operate within the laws and guidelines of the Charities Commission set out policies.

Fantastic Fox Wood PTA are very lucky to have a strong, driven committee who run the day to day duties and bring the team through to end success!

Meet our Team:

Rachael Penn

Chair/Trustee

Im Rachael and I'm also known as Alfie's Mum. Alfie has been a pupil at Fox Wood for coming up to 2 years and I'm blown away by how much he has flourished at the hands of the amazing staff! I found myself unable to return to my previous career of Regional Manager due to the high needs of my children. Alfie's sister has ADHD also so we have a very hectic life to say the least! I found I was missing the social aspect of working as well as using my learnt skills to develop success within a team environment. I joined a fundraising meeting early 2024 at the school chaired by our charities Co-Chair Laura. She stated her passion to develop a PTA bringing the parents/carers together ,working with the school to enrich the pupils experience and education and I saw my passion start to return. All of a sudden I had hundreds of ideas to help make it happen, and the rest is history!

Laura Simms

Co-Chair/Trustee

Hey, im Laura, i have worked at Fox Wood since September 2021- i started in the school office as an Admin Assistant as i needed a job to fit around my 2 young children going to school, but in getting that job i fell in love with everything the school does and more importantly the amazing inspirational pupils. So,  i applied for a new role and in November 2023 I started as the school's Pastoral Support Officer.  From the start i had a vision of bringing our parents together by creating a group where they can be themselves, make friends and also raise as much money for our pupils as possible. With ALOT of help from Rachael and a number of other very committed parents the Fantastic Fox Wood PTA  was born in May 2024. I firmly believe that there is nothing this group cannot achieve, so watch this space...

Jenny Quinn

Secretary/Trustee

Hi I’m Jenny, mum to Harrison who attends Fox Wood School and loves it! He enjoys the social side of mixing with staff and class mates and always has a smile for people. Early in 2024 he was recuperating from major surgery when the school put out a call for interested parents who wanted to help raise funds for the school and the children. I went along and met fellow parents who were all willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved in working together as a team to create bigger and better experiences for all the pupils as part of their school journey. The school has given so much to Harrison, this is my way of showing how grateful we are for that and being able to give back to the school community.
